About the role:

Assist the Category Manager in effectively managing all aspects of their administrative functions and reporting. This role will operate in our Metcash Food and Grocery space, supporting our cooking needs category. This is a highly visible category in the business and is a great step to further grow your career into a buying role.

What you’ll do:

  • Setting up, managing and updating supplier promotional plans
  • Maintaining Promotions Program Systems - accurately input data into Power Enterprise Programs
  • Accurately input data into the New Line / Delete database
  • Processing of all relevant paperwork as per required timelines - promotions, new lines, deletions, supplier changes, price changes, pack changes, pallet configurations, product amendments
  • Generating reports - New Line / Delete notification reports for supplier communication/ Promotional Verification reports for supplier confirmation
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships - effective communication with all applicable stakeholders at all levels as required
  • Co-ordinating weekly promotions submissions and delivering an optimal weekly sales plan for the business and retailers that grows sales and profitability

What you'll bring: 

  • Ability to analyse and prioritise information and convert ideas and objectives into actions
  • Ability to ensure and maintain a high level of accuracy at all times
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and Access)
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with people across the organisation
  • Ability to plan and organise self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks
  • Ability to prioritize problems, gather and analyse information to reach the optimal outcome
  • Ability to use clear concise language in correspondence when preparing written briefs and reports
