Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for merchandise management and supplier partnerships? Total Tools, a leader in trade and industrial quality tools, is seeking a dynamic Category Manager to join our team. With a wide product range supported by long-term supplier partnerships, we serve a diverse customer base across housing, refurbishment, renovation, service, maintenance, and infrastructure industries.
About the opportunity
As a Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in formulating and executing merchandise strategies that align with Total Tools’ corporate objectives. You will work collaboratively across teams to develop and implement product programs, drive sales and margins of local and exclusive brands, and contribute to our network-wide merchandise success.
What you will be doing
- Develop and execute category business strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and brand penetration.
- Manage supplier relationships to secure the best terms and drive product innovation.
- Conduct category range reviews to identify opportunities and set merchandising standards.
- Monitor competitor activity and pricing to maintain Total Tools’ market advantage.
- Lead promotional and sales campaigns to boost category growth.
- Support stores with category plans, training, and feedback integration to enhance performance.
- Ensure all products comply with Australian mandatory standards and regulations.
- Coach and develop junior team members as needed.
- Travel interstate and overseas as part of your role.
You’re likely a match if you are/have
- Previous experience in Category or Product Management in Tools or ideally within retail or trade industries.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic business abilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and merchandising skills.
