Despatch Clerk

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Permanent Despatch Clerk based at our Cairns Distribution Centre, working a full-time 5-day roster. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating outbound deliveries, preparing freight and shipping documentation, and ensuring orders are accurately loaded and dispatched on time. Working closely with warehouse and transport teams, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position is ideal for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

In this Role

• Coordinate the accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders in line with delivery schedules.
• Prepare and process freight documentation, manifests, consignment notes, and shipping paperwork.
• Schedule and coordinate transport providers to ensure efficient delivery outcomes.
• Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure orders are picked, packed, and ready for dispatch on time.
• Conduct final checks on outbound orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Monitor dispatch schedules and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and transport providers regarding delivery timelines and updates.

You’re Likely a Match If

• Previous experience in a despatch, transport, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
• Strong administrative and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience preparing freight documentation, manifests, consignment notes, and delivery paperwork. 
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet tight dispatch deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

• Sound computer skills, including experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office applications
