About the Opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for a passionate Fresh Specialist based in Canning Vale WA, who loves supporting local, bring a positive, can-do attitude, and takes pride in doing things right. Your key purpose is to support the successful delivery of new independent Metcash stores, including new store openings, DSA projects, refurbishments, and fit outs. This will be achieved through effective planning, coordination, and collaboration between Metcash teams, retailers, and third-party partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. 

 

In this Role

  • Plan and deliver DSA projects on time and within budget, ensuring successful execution and retailer engagement.
  • Develop robust business plans by sourcing accurate information and sharing plans with retailers and key stakeholders.
  • Drive program participation by securing additional retailers and achieving budgeted benefits.
  • Manage retail project delivery by planning and implementing new initiatives and advising on equipment upgrades.
  • Coordinate store relays and layouts including signage, branding, and collateral to meet timelines and budgets.
  • Utilize and implement Retail Space Planograms to optimize store layouts and formats.
  • Oversee project management activities including timelines, budgeting, and third-party support requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently by setting clear milestones and ensuring successful completion within strict timeframes.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Multi-site retail management experience, preferably with IGA stores.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and understanding of supplier arrangements and support.
  • Experience in supermarket fit outs and refurbishments, with ability to interpret plans and layouts.
  • Solid project management and budgeting skills, including planning and execution under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic building regulations and standards relevant to retail environments.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex issues and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to coach and train stakeholders to drive business outcomes and build strong internal/external relationships.
  • Advanced planning and organizational skills, with capability to prioritize multiple competing demands and act as a self-starter to drive change.
