About the Opportunity

At Metcash, our distribution centres keep Australia's independent retailers moving!

 We're looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Trainer to take ownership of training delivery, capability development and onboarding excellence within our Distribution Centre in Canning Vale five days onsite.

In this highly visible role, you'll lead the local training function, develop and mentor trainers, drive safety-first learning practices, and help new team members reach competency faster.

In this Role

  • Lead and manage training across the Distribution Centre, ensuring team members are trained, competent and operating safely
  • Coordinate and deliver onboarding, induction and operational training programs for new starters
  • Coach, mentor and develop trainers to deliver a consistent, engaging and high-quality learning experience
  • Drive time-to-competency, retention and performance outcomes through effective training plans and progress tracking
  • Identify capability gaps and implement training solutions that support operational performance and growth
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all training aligns with national standards, compliance requirements and best practice

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Proven experience delivering training, coaching or capability development programs within a warehouse, logistics or operational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop trainers and team members to achieve performance outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing operations, safety practices, compliance requirements and operational processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships
  • A passion for developing people, driving engagement and creating a positive learning culture
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
