About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Project Manager, reporting to the National Supply Chain, Distribution Centre Deployments Manager. You will be responsible for the overall management planning and implementation of a large Distribution Centre (DC) expansion project at Canning Vale. The expansion requires fit-out of various supply chain assets necessary to safely operate this facility. The role requires collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups to identify, develop and deliver the necessary design, planning, risks & issues management and the procurement of the fit-for-purpose operational kit necessary to safely and efficiently operate. The project manager is the team lead and coach responsible for relevant meeting cadences, project reporting and the change and communication requirements to successfully commission, transition and go-live the project in line with agreed targets.

 

This assignment is a 24-month FTC duration, with potential opportunities beyond the initial contract period for further employment.

  • Own and proactively drive the full project lifecycle; successful project delivery will include full implementation, transition to an operational state and adoption of scoped automated systems.
  • Manage and steer all aspects of the project to ensure targets are delivered in accordance with the approved baselines (scope (quality), budget, schedule, benefits and risk).
  • Manage ad-hoc projects in addition to the DC expansion project as may be required.
  • Timely identification of risks and issues with the execution of the necessary management plans to address.
  • Lead stakeholders to ensure clear definition of the change plans, deliverables and expectations.
  • Oversee stream management and resolution of Requests for Information (RFI) and Variations.

You’re Likely a Match If

  • You can demonstrate your commitment to safety and the desired Metcash target behaviours,
  • Experience in delivering projects in the logistics and supply chain sector.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years Project Management experience in delivering complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to connect across all levels of the business.
  • Advanced planning & organisation skills and capable of prioritising multiple competing demands.
  • An ability to be a self-starter with a sense of urgency to drive change and an ability to set business direction.
  • Strong skills with MS office and planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Plan View).
