About the Opportunity

As a State Transport Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our transport network, ensuring cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and top-tier service delivery. You will oversee all transport operations within the Distribution Centre (DC), ensuring seamless coordination between warehouse activities and outbound deliveries. Your focus will be on optimizing capacity planning, managing carrier partnerships, and driving continuous improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.

In this Role

• Develop and implement transport plans that align with daily, weekly, and monthly operational needs, optimizing routes and fleet utilization.
• Lead the daily execution of transport activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, service commitments, and cost targets.
• Uphold the highest standards in WHS, COR, and transport compliance, fostering a culture of safety across all transport operations.
• Engage with customers, ensure on-time deliveries, resolve issues swiftly, and continuously improve service quality.
• Work closely with finance and carrier partners to manage transport costs while maintaining service excellence.

You’re Likely a Match If

• Proven experience in transport or logistics management, preferably in a high-volume distribution environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of WHS, COR, and transport compliance regulations.
• Ability to drive efficiency and continuous improvement in transport operations.
• Strong financial acumen to manage budgets and optimize costs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Highly numerate, articulate, and capable of balancing strategic and operational priorities.
