About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Credit Officeron a full-time basis located in Crestmead, Queensland.  The Credit Officer will be responsible for effectively and efficiently administering credit department activity to ensure ALM cash flow is maximised; ALM’s credit risk is minimised, and customer service is enhanced.   

 

In this Role

  • Manage a large, aged customer ledger with focus around driving down debtor days and balances to optimise financial performance
  • Ensuring efficient risk management to align with both business and customer expectations.
  • Maintain credit limits and trading terms
  • Investigation of unreconciled payments
  • Coordinate order pool management, ensuring timely release of orders to meet logistical deadlines.
  • Resolve disputes effectively and cultivate strong customer relations through proactive communication and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders within a large, national team to achieve collective objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit function

  • Proficient in administrative tasks and customer service, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction.
  • Strong time management abilities, adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and proactive, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Experienced in a similar role, adept at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and negotiating favourable business outcomes within a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
