We're looking for a commercially savvy Business Development Manager to help drive growth for Finlayson's Timber & Hardware. This is a genuine hunter role, focused on uncovering opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and securing major residential and commercial projects.

Working closely with the Group Trade Sales Manager, you'll leverage your industry network to identify opportunities early, influence key stakeholders and win new business. From infrastructure projects and commercial developments to large residential builds, you'll play a key role in expanding Finlayson's presence across the region.

About you

• Identify and secure new commercial and residential project opportunities across South East Queensland
• Develop and maintain relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, developers and key project stakeholders
• Build a strong pipeline through market intelligence, lead generation tools and industry networks
• Monitor upcoming projects, planning approvals and construction activity to identify opportunities early
• Prepare and present commercial proposals, tenders and supply agreements
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop winning sales strategies
• Negotiate and secure large-scale supplier contracts and project opportunities
• Ensure a seamless handover of won business to the Account Management team for ongoing servicing

What you'll bring to the role

• Proven success in a Business Development, Commercial Sales or similar role within the building, timber, hardware, construction or associated industries
• Established relationships and networks across the South East Queensland construction market
• Demonstrated experience winning large-scale projects, contracts and tender opportunities
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements
• Experience dealing with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, developers and senior decision-makers
• Exceptional relationship-building, presentation and influencing skills
• A proactive and results-focused approach, with the ability to work autonomously
• Knowledge of the Queensland construction and development market will be highly regarded
