About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Regional General Manager Operations, you'll take full accountability for the safe, profitable and high-performing operation of our Townsville Branch. You'll lead a team of managers, supervisors and frontline staff, manage our 3PL transport partners, and be the driving force behind exceptional DIFOT service and customer relationships. In this Role
- Own and deliver the branch's sales and financial budgets, identifying and executing strategies to hit targets
- Find and implement efficiencies that improve the branch's cost of doing business
- Champion a safe, engaged workplace — leading SHE policies, systems and risk management for your site
- Ensure timely reporting, escalation and investigation of safety hazards and incidents
- Lead the induction, onboarding, training and development of a large and diverse team
- Build succession plans and coach your managers, supervisors and team members to grow
- Manage 3PL and 4PL transport partners to keep DIFOT performance front and centre
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers, delivering in full and on time, every time
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience managing large, multi-site or multi-team operations, ideally within FMCG, retail or warehousing
- Solid P&L and commercial acumen, with confidence owning a budget and driving results
- Experience managing 3PL/4PL transport providers and negotiating transport tenders
- A track record of leading, coaching and developing people — including performance conversations and succession planning
- Comfort navigating union EA negotiations and site-specific workplace processes
- Strong stakeholder and conflict-resolution skills, with a knack for the tough conversations
- Solid understanding of WHS, HACCP, chain of responsibility and safety compliance
- A genuine passion for customer service, DIFOT and operational excellence — and the drive to make Townsville your next great chapter
