About the Opportunity
The Merchandise Manager for ALM Central Region is responsible for leading operational management of suppliers, product ranging and replenishment of inventory across the ALM South Australia and Northern Territory Business. This role ensures stock levels are optimized to meet budget targets, minimize aged inventory, and support customer demand through effective planning and supplier collaboration. The role also oversees the maintenance and utilization of demand planning systems and drives stakeholder engagement to deliver cost efficiencies and value creation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading two Stock Control Assistants, providing strong leadership, development opportunities, and ongoing guidance to support team performance and growth. This role is located in our Gepps Cross office, with free onsite parking.
In this Role
- Management and maintenance budgeted stock levels
- Achieving stock profit budget through strategic purchasing
- Manage aged stock (plus 90 days) below 5% of total inventory value, including manage code dates on items with BBD.
- Schedule inbound trucks to minimize COR exposure, and if delays occur, liaise with stakeholders to alleviate waiting times.
- Lead the Central Region Stock Team to drive high performance and development of team through coaching and crucial conversations.
- Maintain customs duty file and documentation and liaise with customs agents with remissions submitted monthly and yearly audits completed.
- Work with Logistics Operations Management team to identify opportunities to reduce operational costs
- Review of SKU portfolio to ensure right products ranged and correct stock levels.
You’re Likely a Match If
- Experience in FMCG operations preferred.
- Procurement and Inventory management
- Experience in leading teams
- Intermediate Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Outlook
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of OH&S practices
