About the role

The Analytics & Insights Manager role exists to develop and deliver strategies that convert data into knowledge, adding valuable information that leads to improved decision making across the organization.

It requires a unique set of skills that combines a strategic mind-set with the ability to execute operationally.

This customer-facing role supports and enables a vast array of external stakeholders including retailers, DIY and Trade consumers, independent storeowners, suppliers and the internal IHG team.

It is pivotal in providing access to accurate information based on insights across both our bricks and mortar footprint and digital offer. Success delivers commercial, accurate and timely insights that enable the execution of strategic decisions.

 

What You Will Do

  • Refine the Analytics & Insights approach, within the context of the overall business consumer-led strategy
  • Identify and report on critical trends to enable strong decisions for the long term

  • Create an environment where the customer is at the heart of our decision-making - enabling independent retailers to grow and be successful

  • Define team structure, roles and accountabilities and build a team to deliver on the strategy, accurately, timely and insightfully

  • Develop and grow relationships with the IHG Executive, and other key stakeholders including those within the broader Metcash Group

  • Ensure appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place to learn and improve
  • Ensure appropriate methods are in place to capture data from the market, stores retail, wholesale and IHG financial systems

  • Ensure appropriate systems are in place to ensure compliance to the ACCC undertakings

 

What You Will Bring

  • A strong level of experience across analytics whilst having knowledge of current and future applications that can be utilised to deliver the best outcomes
  • Ability to communicate, educate and influence strategic decisions across business functions in accordance with key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Ability to maintain business alignment between Commercial, Merchandise, Marketing, Supply Chain and Sales & Operations functions

  • Ability to managecompeting priorities in a demanding work environment

  • Ability to provide support and business knowledge to direct reports and team members across all functions of IHG

  • Ability to develop and implement key business projects as deemed necessary within IHG

  • A comprehensive understanding of business KPIs and executive reporting

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and development skills
  • A disposition to challenge the status-quo

  • Strong customer focus, enthusiastic, pro-active, reliable, resilient, self-motivated, attention to detail, ability to negotiate, manage multiple tasks, flexibility
