At Total Tools Hardware Group (TTHG), we’re not just in the business of hardware – we’re in the business of building strong local communities, one postcode at a time. Backed by iconic brands like Mitre 10, Home Timber & Hardware, and Total Tools, we support over independently owned stores, company own stores and join venture stores across the country, giving them the competitive edge to take on the big chains and win.
From bustling trade stores to regional hometown heroes, our network is growing – and so is the need for financial excellence that keeps everything moving.
About the opportunity:
We’re looking for a strategic and people-first finance leader to join us as Head of Shared Services Finance – a critical role supporting the financial backbone of a national retail group. This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, and Transactional Banking, while driving innovation, efficiency, and service excellence.
You’ll also manage key outsourced partnerships, improve systems and processes, and help shape a scalable shared services model that supports both corporate-owned and independently operated businesses. If you thrive on driving impact, leading change, and building high-performing teams, this is your chance to make your mark in a business that’s growing fast and thinking big.
In this role:
As Head of Shared Services, you’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable – ensuring the smooth flow of payments, collections, and cash.
- Credit Management & Risk – setting smart credit strategies that protect our business and support our customers.
- Transactional Banking– keeping the books clean and the relationships strong.
- Outsourced Service Management – ensuring our external partners deliver to high standards and stay aligned with our business goals.
- Process Improvement & Governance – bringing a sharp eye for detail and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.
But this isn’t just a back-office role. You’ll be a key connector across functions, a trusted advisor to leadership, and a cultural champion who empowers your team to deliver better, smarter, faster – every day.
You are Likely a Match:
- Proven experience leading shared service functions in complex, multi-entity environments (think franchises, JVs, and corporate stores)
- Strong track record in vendor management, governance, and financial control
- Experience in large-scale finance transformation and process optimisation
- Sharp commercial acumen with the ability to turn numbers into insights
- Strong ERP/financial systems knowledge, plus the ability to lead through change
- A collaborative, empowering leadership style with a focus on outcomes and people
A bit about your style
- You’re authentic, courageous, and collaborative.
- You bring energy to a room and clarity to complexity.
- You empower others, lead with purpose, and never settle for “good enough.”
