About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven and future-focused Account Manager to join our Food team. In this role, you’ll be the trusted advisor and primary relationship lead for a portfolio of independent retailers, delivering exceptional value and driving sustainable growth across the network.
In this Role
- Own and manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned to customer and Metcash strategies
- Drive commercial outcomes including merchandising activations, campaigns, and digital initiatives
- Provide advisory support across store operations including P&L, rostering, and compliance
- Champion community programs, consumer promotions, and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure adoption of Channel Standards, OEP, and FSA compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver holistic customer support
- Attend key seasonal events such as Expo and Easter activations
You’re Likely a Match If
- Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of retail economics (e.g., CODB, margin, pricing)
- Experience working with multi-site or franchise retailers
- Strategic relationship management and influencing skills
- Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative, proactive, and customer-focused mindset
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and operational excellence
