About the Opportunity
The Group SHE Culture & Capability Manager role will be responsible for leading initiatives aimed to transform Metcash’s SHE culture and capability through induction, training, visual branding/marketing, communications, and team member engagement strategies.
The role requires strong leadership, constructive and positive behaviours and effective engagement of stakeholders through collaboration and influence.
In this Role
• Design, develop and oversee the execution of a SHE culture change strategy combining elements of training, visual branding/marketing, communications, leadership and team member engagement strategies.
• Conduct periodic SHE culture and capability surveys; identify learnings and opportunities for culture and capability uplift.
• Design and coordinate the execution of Group-wide SHE culture and capability programs, designed to uplift opportunities identified through surveys.
• Oversee the continuous improvement and maintenance of the Metcash SHE Training Needs Analysis (TNA), mapping training required for all workers and visitors across onboarding/induction, licensing, technical / work instruction training, verification of competency (VOC) and required refresher training.
• Develop and maintain SHE training materials to support the TNA and oversee and coordinate the selection of preferred training providers / vendors.
• In consultation and collaboration with pillar teams, assist sites with training compliance including but not limited to site specific inductions, safety training, compliance training, licensing requirements, training in Safe Work Operating Procedures (SWOPs) and Verification of Competency (VOC).
• In collaboration with the Metcash Learning & Development team, continuously improve frameworks for documenting and tracking induction and develop related training materials
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with key operational stakeholders, and, as a senior leader in the team, be a collaborative and constructive team player and contribute to building a high performing and highly engaged SHE team.
You’re Likely a Match If
• Circa 10 years’ experience in a learning and development or safety training role and 5 years in a L&D or safety leadership position
• Experience mentoring, coaching and developing talent
• Success in leading change, driving execution and prioritising for key safety outcomes
• Strong relationship management and influencing skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Capable of working in a matrix structure, across multiple stakeholders
• Tertiary qualifications in SHE or a related discipline such as legal or sciences
• Training and Assessment Qualification (Certificate IV or higher)
• Experience in training material preparation and facilitation
• Qualifications in ICAM Lead Investigator, SHE Lead Auditor or Project Management is highly regarded
