Location: Central Coast to Southern NSW | Regular Travel Required

We're looking for an experienced Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager to partner with our Total Tools Hardware Group (TTHG) business and help create safer workplaces across a diverse national network of retail stores, trade centres, manufacturing sites and offices. This role is responsible for driving SHE culture, governance, compliance and performance across the business while partnering closely with operational leaders to achieve meaningful safety outcomes.


 

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture and embed safe behaviours across the business.
  • Coach and support leaders in safety leadership, incident management, critical risk reviews and injury management activities. 
  • Support the implementation of Metcash's SHE Strategy and SHE Management System across retail and manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct critical risk reviews, control verification activities and support risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Assist with internal and external compliance audits and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor safety performance, injury trends and key indicators to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Provide trusted advice, coaching and support to leaders and teams across multiple business locations.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence positive safety outcomes through collaboration and partnership. 

 

What You'll Bring

 

 Skills & Experience

✓ Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health & Environment or a related discipline. Cert IV in WHS essesntial

✓ Minimum 3 years' experience in a Safety, Health & Environment role.

✓ Strong understanding of Australian safety, health and environmental legislation.

✓ Experience supporting operational environments such as retail, manufacturing, warehousing or logistics.

✓ Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships. 

✓ Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability. 

✓ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

✓ ICAM Investigator, Lead Auditor and Mental Heath First Aid certificates highly desirable.
