About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented State Events Coordinator to join our Food team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing state-based events that connect Metcash with our retailers, customers, and communities. From new store openings to promotional activations and internal events, you’ll ensure every event delivers impact, aligns with brand standards, and supports both state and national objectives.
In this Role
- Scope, plan, and deliver state-based events tailored to store and regional needs
- Lead end-to-end event execution including logistics, run sheets, and post-event reporting
- Coordinate new store openings, community activations, and promotional initiatives
- Manage event merchandise and ensure brand alignment
- Support national sponsorship and charity programs through local execution
- Assist with internal and non-commercial events to support team and brand goals
- Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors
- Participate in key seasonal events such as Expo and Easter
You’re Likely a Match If
- You have experience in retail, grocery, or foodservice operations
- You’re highly organised with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- You bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- You’re resilient, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- You understand retail operations, merchandising, and field execution programs
- You’re familiar with compliance frameworks and food safety standards
- You’re customer-focused and thrive in collaborative environments
