About the role:

 

To ensure the efficient scheduling (Bookings) of inbound freight into both the dry grocery warehouse and the perishables warehouse.  To also ensure the correct amount of stock is purchased to meet demand whilst keeping the costs of holding stock to a minimum.  To identify and drive opportunities to improve forecast performance and identify continuous improvement initiatives across the wider replenishment team.  This role is also responsible for system / process optimization.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Schedule the daily inbound freight (vehicles) in an efficient manner working closely with the warehouse teams
  • Achieve or exceed Service Level Targets whilst ensuring Aged Stock and Short Code write- offs are below maximum allowances.
  • Ensure promotional forecasting is as accurate as possible and reviewed regularly.
  • Ensure product ordering parameters are current and relevant (i.e. seasonal demand changes)
  • Ensure speed to market of all new lines ranged by State Buyers
  • Action any issues related to pack changes and vendor changes
  • Review weekly promotional forecasting
  • Highlight setup issues as identified
  • Upload all promotional forecasting data as required
  • Address any issues as highlighted by the National | State Promotions team
  • Provide a backup support role to the Stock Control team
  • Resolve all stock related warehousing and merchandising issues daily.
  • All emails and supplier communications are actioned daily
  • Advise Promotions Team of any supply issues impacting promotional activity ASAP

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Experience in scheduling of inbound freight and the procurement methods and procedures of purchasing function including, buying, quality assurance and inventory management
  • Sound planning, organizational and administrative skills with demonstrated effectiveness in developing systems, processes and procedures to prioritize tasks and ensure achievement for goals to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, monitor and extract data
  • Advanced computing skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • The ability to work well under pressure and present reports
  • Excellent communications skills
