Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

This role will lead the shift and oversee warehouse operations, including pick-pack, receipt, dispatch and delivering on-time and in-full. Where assigned, complete the daily operational planning and rostering requirements to ensure that the forecasted volumes can be delivered with the right number of skilled resources

 

What you’ll do

 

Operations Management

  • Monitor and control operations, considering the transportation schedule and store service level
  • Ensure the workflow and resources are aligned to complete the work schedule, daily labour planning tool used.
  • Ensure stock is picked and supplied accurately to meet customer orders

Cost

  • Take actions to ensure the reduction of the operating costs of the warehouse (labour, facilities, equipment operation and servicing)
  • Maintain shrinkage % and ensure an acceptable standard of pick accuracy is met across the warehouse

Leadership responsibilities

  • Lead by example and live and breathe Metcash values and behaviours
  • Supervise staff providing feedback and managing recording performance issues
  • Coaching and training of leading hands

Workplace Safety Supervision

  • Ensure all OHS, company policies and legislation is adhered to at all times
  • Report near misses, Hazards and Safety incidents in the Safety management System and take necessary action to rectify where possible
  • Understand the safety metrics and how reporting affects our people.

Planning & CI

  • Implement and analyse rostering control processes to ensure that staffing levels are maintained at a cost-effective level, while meeting operational requirements
  • Monitor staff member work standards and manage underperformance
  • Work on Continuous Improvement initiatives as required

 

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in FMCG operations
  • Experience in leading teams,
  • Use of Continuous Improvement tools and methods
  • Knowledge of EEO, OH&S and HACCP Regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of OH&S practices
