About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as an Assistant Commercial Analyst on a 12mth FTC reporting to the Finance Manager – National Finance & Transformation Projects. The Assistant Commercial Analyst will assist with the accounting and reporting responsibilities of the Food Finance team while core team members focus on Metcash Horizon project implementation. This role is critical to ensuring business continuity and high-quality reporting during a period of significant change. The role will mainly focus on supporting the team with BAU tasks including month end close, reconciliations, audit compliance and management reporting.
In this Role
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure seamless handover of finance tasks
- Preparation of timely monthly and quarterly financial and management reporting
- Accurate preparation of monthly journals, month end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations in line with Metcash reporting timelines
- Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
You’re Likely a Match If
- At least 2 years work experience
- Graduate degree in accounting or similar
- CPA / CA qualified or looking to complete either post graduate course
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Dynamic D365, TM1, Power BI and Power Enterprise
- Experience supporting BAU during system transition would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision
