About the Opportunity

As the Assistant Commercial Analyst, you’ll play a key role supporting day-to-day commercial finance operations, with exposure to reconciliations, month-end and financial data integrity. It’s an ideal role for someone looking to build on an Assistant Accountant or junior analyst background and step into a broader, commercially focused finance position. You’ll also gain ownership of key processes across Corporate Stores and the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), contributing to continuous improvement and supporting more strategic finance initiatives. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based at Macquarie Park, with a hybrid working model of three days in the office.

 

In this Role

  • Preparation of month-end reporting for National Corporate Stores
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts and ensure accuracy
  • Prepare and validate financial reports and supporting data, including responding to stakeholder queries
  • Support key reporting activities for Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)
  • Conduct variance and trend analysis to identify key insights and underlying drivers
  • Apply and build knowledge of non-trade reporting
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reconciliations, and audit-ready records
  • Ensure adherence to controls, processes, and approval frameworks

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • 2-4 years’ experience in accounting, business or assistant commercial analyst role   
  • CPA / CA qualified or working towards completion
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations and month-end close
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling exposure highly regarded
  • Pro-active with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP/reporting tools (e.g. D365, Power BI, TM1) highly regarded
