About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity as a Category Coordinator who will support the Category Manager in planning, building and delivering a shopper led channel specific trade plan. The Category Coordinator will provide administrative category management support across ranging, product lifecycle, pricing, promotions, and managing the supplier relationship. 

In this Role

  • Support the category manager in delivering on retail sales and income budget and drive improvements in COGS.
  • Support Trading Managers in all aspects of day-to-day sourcing, pricing, promotion, costing and supplier management activities. Support Trading Manager with analysis on category management activities
  • Check and via MDG process all relevant paperwork as per required timelines, including promotions, new lines, deletions, supplier changes, price changes, pallet configurations, product amendments
  • Provide MDG with validated pricing and new line data
  • Manage the category promotional using MetProms
  • Analyse and provide insight for sales and income opportunities (for Metcash and Retailers) on suppliers and competitors

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • You have experience in (or a strong understanding) of retail and/or FMCG
  • Uses data and analytic skills in Excel, Power BI, CRMs/planning tools, and Circana (or industry similar tool)
  • Have basic negotiation skills working with external stakeholders
  • Understands the Category Management and 4P principles.
  • Basic understanding of category and shopper insights, with ability to turn these into actionable plans. Customer focused and collaborative, with demonstrated ability to influence in an internal matrix structure and with external stakeholders
  • Commercial Acumen with an understanding of how they influence success in Category Management
  • Proven record of delivering priorities in a time pressured environment and adapting to change
