About the Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Category Insights Manager based at our Macquarie Park office.  The Category Insights Manager leads the strategic utilisation of category and shopper insights for Food Merchandise to drive sustainable and profitable growth of IGA market share. This role will report to Senior Category Insights Manager.

 

In this Role

  • Partner closely with HOT and Category Managers to drive sustainable and profitable category growth, leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the consistent deployment of a robust Category Management framework and principles within the Category POD, guiding decision-making with comprehensive insights.
  • Lead the analysis of category range, pricing, and promotional plans, aligning them with the strategic priorities of each channel during category reviews.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to provide well-informed recommendations for category strategy.
  • Play a pivotal role in formulating best practice category strategies and contribute to Joint Business Plan (JBP) category growth initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration with suppliers and data agencies to fill relevant shopper and research information gaps, driving continuous category growth.  

You’re Likely a Match If

  • 5+ years FMCG experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/Marketing or similarly related field
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to collect and interpret data, identify insights and develop growth strategies with an understanding of Category Management and Retail Landscape
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement with ability to communicate in a clear, simple and engaging way
  • Cultivate, grow and maintain relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficient at using scan and panel data from Nielsen, Circana and loyalty data
