About the Opportunity

We have a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity for a Commercial Partner to support our Perishables and Tobacco portfolios within our Food business. In this role, you will assist the Commercial Manager by offering commercial insights and decision support to the Merchandise teams. Your responsibilities will include focusing on merchandise performance, measuring KPI achievements, identifying financial opportunities and risks, and providing comprehensive information and analysis to enable the merchandise teams to make informed, fact-based decisions to achieve their goals.

 

In this Role

  • Support the Head of Trade - Perishables on managing the commercial affairs of Perishables department
  • Ensure relevant information is provided to facilitate supplier negotiations
  • Partner States / Channel and Trading teams with the preparation of Budgets, forecasts and KPIs
  • Compile trend analysis and KPI variance assessments and commentary across Trading departments and Channels:
    • Retail and Wholesale Sales performance
    • Category / Channel Income performance (In lieu, deferred and state)
    • Inventory management
    • Direct market analysis
  • Prepare supplier performance assessments
  • GM / commercial support where applicable
  • Support decision pricing support and investment
  • Collectively support the broader National Commercial team as required

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Industry experience in FMCG, Retail, or related fields
  • Proven ability to liaise across functions and collaborate with diverse groups and stakeholders
  • Experience working in dynamic environments influenced by consumer trends, technology, and various data sets
  • Expertise in commercial reporting functions, including KPI reporting, scorecards, dashboard reporting, and trend analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Strong financial modelling and system skills
  • Capability to work with complex data and integrate multiple system source points
