About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash a Communications & Planning Manager who is responsible for leading a team that executes all merchandise program communications and the merchandise planning cadence for our teams to enable shopper led & channel specific programs.

Partner with key stake holders to deliver the merchandise program with continuous improvement, simplified & standardise communications (Metcash team members and retailers), supporting the seamless execution of the merchandise program, delivering growth for retailers, suppliers and Metcash Food Groups KPIs.

 

In this Role 

  • Deliver financial results, including increased Retail Sales, Warehouse Sales, improved Retailer Profitability and improved Metcash Profitability
  • Lead the Communications and Planning team to execute the Merchandise Program, timelines and communications. In line with the Metcash Food Integrated Planning Cycle.
  • To work cross functionally and managed the merchandise activation calendar to deliver the Metcash Food KPIs
  • Accountable for the delivery of Merchandise Program materials: Supplier & Merchandise Event Packs
  • In partnership with the Category Teams, manage the merchandise communications strategy to our retail partners, for example; Successful Independent Magazine and/or other communications materials that syndicate the merchandise program to retailers.
  • Manage the internal communication (i.e. with Category teams and relevant cross functional stakeholders) of the merchandise program.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • 5+ years’ experience in Retail / Wholesale / FMCG
  • Formal education in either Communications, Marketing or Project Management
  •  Previous experience as a Communications Manager with a proven track record working within complex environments, managing change, influencing and partnering with multiple stakeholders and leading relationships, would be desirable
  • A collaborative and composed style that supports and partners with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A resourceful, innovative, relationship driven and results focused Manager who can manage multiple & often competing timelines.
  • The ability to understand suppliers and retailers with experience in a similar role, preferably in an Independent or franchise model
  • The ability to liaise with large and geographically diverse teams
