About the Opportunity

We are hiring! We are on a look out for an experienced Data Scientist who can work under the supervision of the Data Scientist to support the various business departments across the Food pillar to deliver insights that are data-driven, create dashboards and support the business with strategic decision making through the use of data science and statistical techniques.

In this Role you will:

• Engage with the stakeholders to identify and enable data-driven business decision making by conducting deep dive analysis, discovering root causes and translate analytical insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business to grow market share through pricing, range, shelf optimisation etc.
• Build reports and dashboards that provide insights, quickly identify any potential issues and drive business decision making process including trend analysis and visualising data for stakeholders to navigate through reports.
• Develop and design statistical algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large data sets from multiple disparate sources
• Able to apply data science techniques to define business problems and develop models to identify any growth opportunities through optimisation (price, range, promotions) and work with large data sets from multiple sources, utilising big data tools and techniques for the purposes of analysing, providing insight and validating hypotheses

You're Likely a Match If

• Degree qualified in statistics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline
• Proven experience in use of R (including R shiny), SQL, Power BI (DAX), Power Pivot and Excel
• Proficient ability to extract data from various database technologies, e.g. MS SQL Server, Azure, AWS Redshift, Impala and Hive.
• Strong ability to present and create retail sales, compliance dashboards and range gap analysis in Power BI
• Experience with the full process of data collection, dealing with scan data anomalies using various statistical techniques, statistical modelling, training and deploying machine learning solutions.
