About the Opportunity

At Metcash, we’re passionate about supporting the communities we serve and ensuring our customers have the products they need, when they need them. We’re looking for a Demand Forecasting Specialist to join our Food business and play a key role in shaping smarter supply chain decisions through data, insights and collaboration. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the micro-level forecasting of Food Distribution Centre items, including baseline, promotional and new line forecasting, helping to improve forecast accuracy, optimise supply chain performance and enable better business outcomes. Working closely with Demand Analysts, Supply teams and customer stakeholders, you’ll identify opportunities, manage exceptions and drive continuous improvement across our forecasting processes.

In this Role, You Will:

• Own and enhance baseline forecast accuracy through effective exception management and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage promotional and new line forecasting by analysing customer programs, reviewing trends and providing actionable insights
• Partner with Supply, Customer and Demand teams to resolve forecast queries, manage demand changes and improve business outcomes
• Support seasonal planning and consensus forecasting processes to ensure alignment across key stakeholders
• Leverage data and analytical skills to identify trends, solve complex problems and recommend practical solutions that improve forecast accuracy

You’ll bring:

• Strong experience in Demand Planning, ideally within FMCG or a complex supply chain environment
• Experience using forecasting systems such as Blue Yonder or similar platforms
• Strong analytical capability with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• The ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across different functions and locations
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and find creative solutions
