About the Opportunity
At Metcash, we support thousands of local businesses across Australia—delivering value, building communities, and making a real difference. Now, we’re looking for a Finance Project Manager to help shape the future of our Finance function and drive strategic initiatives that matter.
This isn’t just another project management role. You’ll be at the heart of delivering smart, efficient, and future-ready finance solutions that cut across Finance, IT, and Shared Services. From concept to execution, you’ll lead complex projects that streamline processes, improve controls, and bring financial strategy to life.
In this Role
- Lead strategic finance initiatives across Finance, IT, and Shared Services—from concept and business case development through to implementation and benefits realisation.
- Identify and drive improvements in finance processes, systems, and reporting by leveraging best practices and technology enablement.
- Develop and manage project plans ensuring timelines, budgets, and outcomes align with business priorities and key milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage resources, and ensure smooth project delivery and adoption.
- Monitor performance and risks, tracking key metrics and providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Champion continuous improvement, embedding efficient, compliant, and future-ready finance processes across the organisation.
You’re Likely a Match If
- A strategic mindset with strong financial acumen and the ability to translate vision into action.
- Proven experience (5+ years) leading financial or project initiatives, ideally within complex, cross-functional environments.
- Deep understanding of finance processes, reporting, and systems such as D365, Concur, TM1, or Salesforce.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively across all levels.
- A results-driven approach with a passion for continuous improvement, attention to detail, and the confidence to lead change.
