About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a HR Business Partner. The purpose of the HR Business Partner role is to bring to life our Metcash Purpose of Championing Successful Independents, delivering the Group People Strategy with a local flavour to the Metcash Food pillar. HR Business Partners nurture passionate leaders, who create constructive cultures, where our people have a strong sense of belonging and connection.

 

In this Role

  • Working collaboratively within the Food Business Partner team, develop the State or function annual people plan for those teams you partner, which enable the state or function to achieve its business plans.  These plans align into the broader Metcash People Strategy and focus on business growth, culture, leadership, capabilities, and core people processes.
  • Act as the people lead in major business changes, providing key stakeholders with capability, support, and effective people-related change management practices to enable and embed major business change.
  • Identify, design, and implement initiatives to ensure the Food pillar has the right talent, in the right place, at the right time to deliver our purpose of Championing Successful Independents
  • Providing leadership coaching & advice to your partner executives & leadership teams
  • Work closely with P&C Advice Centre to understand major trends, working proactively to address underlying issues and focusing on continuous improvement.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Extensive experience in a P & C / HR BP role operating at Senior Leadership level
  • Strong coaching capability
  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including varied levels of seniority
  • Sound problem solving skills, able to analyse facts or data to determine root causes of challenges and then able to propose solutions & implement
  • Ability to balance competing priorities – this role partners 3 teams who are geographically disbursed across Australia
  • Experience in supply chain and IR/ER and an understanding of the industrial relations landscape an advantage
  • Facilitation experience
  • Adaptable and relatable style, with the ability to connect with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience in navigating the dynamics of belonging to a Group function and localised business needs
