About the Opportunity

At Metcash, we are on a mission to redefine and optimize inventory operations across our Distribution Centre (DC) network. We are looking for an experienced National Inventory Operations Manager to take charge of our national inventory strategy, enhance systems and processes, and build a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

In this Role  

  • Develop and optimize inventory operations processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and efficiency across all DCs.
  • Monitor and report on key inventory metrics, including warehouse utilization, cycle counting accuracy, and audit compliance.
  • Train, mentor, and support State Inventory Managers through ongoing communication, feedback, and continuous learning initiatives to enhance their technical and operational skills.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance national inventory processes and systems, driving efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements, optimize workflows, and enhance service delivery.
  • Evaluate, enhance, and integrate inventory management systems and technologies to improve tracking, slotting optimization, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage range planning and slotting processes to optimize pick slot allocations, improve efficiency and safety, and maximize warehouse space by managing slow-moving or obsolete products.

You’re Likely a Match If  

  • Proven experience managing national-level inventory and leading teams - a coach, motivator, and team builder.
  • Strong background in inventory systems, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Data-driven mindset to enhance workflow and service levels.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
