Network Solutions Architect

Fantastic opportunity for a Network Solutions Architect with a strong focus on design and build to develop our network of the future.  The Network Solutions Architect will possess in-depth knowledge of Network Architecture, along with been responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive networking solutions based on Cisco, ZScaler and VMWare SD-WAN technologies.

You will collaborate closely with the Platform Teams and internal stakeholders to understand their business requirements and translate them into effective, scalable, and secure network solutions. Your expertise will play a critical role in driving successful project outcomes and enhancing our business network infrastructure.

What you’ll do

• Guide, develop and own the creation of the Metcash Network Architecture roadmap.
• Develop end-to-end and cloud network solutions utilizing Cisco, ZScaler, VMWare SD-WAN, AWS and Azure products and technologies that align with industry best practices and standards.
• Network Security: Provide guidance and architecture for a robust security footprint our network, incorporating elements such as Zero Trust Framework and ZScaler.
• Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive network architecture documentation, including detailed diagrams, configurations, and rationale behind design decisions. Maintain accurate records of network changes and updates.
• Project Leadership: Work with the Platform Teams, Program and Project Managers to ensure delivery of new deployments, BAU changes and maintenance/uplift works.
• Vendor Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with Metcash partners and carriers to ensure continuity, best practice and design.

What you’ll bring 

• Extensive Network Architecture and Design experience: Understanding network architecture principles, protocols, and topologies to design and implement efficient and secure networks.
• Experience with network security principles and best practices.
• Proven experience as an IT Network Manager or a similar role with a focus on Cisco switch infrastructure, Cisco DNA, and SD-WAN (VMware).
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale Cisco switch-based networks.
• Experience in Zero trust environments.
• Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
