About the Opportunity

At Metcash, we keep Australia’s supply chain moving, and now we’re building the future of Operational Technology (OT) Security.

This is a rare opportunity to shape OT security from the ground up. You’ll initially join our Cyber Security Risk & Privacy Program to design the OT strategy and target operating model, then step into an enduring leadership role owning security governance, monitoring, risk, and key operational outcomes.

This is a 12 months Fixed-term (FTC) role. 

In this Role, You Will:

• Own and drive OT security outcomes across all distribution centres, including governance, standards, and control frameworks
• Act as the OT security SME, providing strategic input into assessments, architecture, and operating model design
• Shape and influence the OT strategy by challenging vendor-led solutions and ensuring practical, operationally fit outcomes
• Partner with architecture and delivery teams to design secure OT environments across WMS, PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, Logistics automation and legacy systems
• Play a pivotal role in the transition from strategy to BAU, underpinning early maturity uplift and continuous, risk-based security improvements
• Develop high-trust relationships internally and externally while coaching team members and fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience in Operational Technology environments (distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial), including roles as an OT Security Lead, owner, or senior SME
• Strong track record of working in low-maturity environments, building capability and influencing outcomes from the ground up
• Experience contributing to OT or cyber security strategy, architecture, or transformation programs
• Deep expertise across OT ecosystems (WMS, PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, industrial networks) and frameworks such as IEC62443
• Pragmatism and influence, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge stakeholders constructively, and drive adoption of security practices
