About the Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Metcash as a PMO Coordinator on a 12mth FTC who is accountable for supporting the effective delivery and seamless operational transition of Metcash Food PMO projects. Working in close partnership with internal and external teams, as well as a broad range of stakeholders, the position ensures that solutions are aligned with both user requirements and strategic objectives. The Project Coordinator will assist crossfunctional teams in achieving highquality project outcomes through diligent project planning, proactive risk mitigation, structured issue management, clear lines of accountability, and disciplined timeline management.

In this Role

  • Project Coordination: Drive end‑to‑end delivery of merchandise and finance initiatives, coordinating activities across all project phases from discovery to review.
  • Portfolio Management: Support oversight of the project portfolio by identifying interdependencies and working with the Senior Project Manager to ensure they are effectively managed.
  • Project Support: Use project tools, frameworks, and resources to enable smooth execution, providing daily operational and administrative support.
  • Governance & Reporting: Prepare status reports, dashboards, and documentation for stakeholders; maintain registers for risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and change requests.
  • Change Management: Assist in applying structured change approaches to ensure smooth adoption of new initiatives and minimise disruption to operations.
  • Solution Development: Partner with business owners to analyse root causes, map processes, and help design solutions that directly address improvement opportunities.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Minimum 2yrs experience in project coordination roles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
  • Project management methodology basics, e.g.’ Agile and Waterfall.
  • Change management methodology basics and their practical application
  • Experienced in applying Project Workflow Management tools, e.g., Monday.com
  • Problem‑solving capability and proficiency in business process mapping.
