About the Opportunity

Are you a finance expert with a passion for planning, analysis, and leading strategic insight across a fast-moving, growth-focused business? Metcash is seeking a Senior FP&A Manager – ALM to lead the financial planning and analysis function for ALM, our Liquor pillar.
In this high-impact role, you’ll own the full strategic, budgeting, and forecasting processes for ALM, while managing a team of four senior finance professionals. You’ll collaborate closely with the CFO, CEO, General Managers, and the Corporate Team to ensure high-quality insights drive informed business decisions, capital investments, and performance reporting.

In this Role

  • Lead all financial planning cycles – oversee annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and the ALM Strategic 5-Year Plan.
  • Drive planning excellence – improve processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and manage capital budgets, business cases, and ROI analysis.
  • Oversee investment & M&A activities – manage LAPL/UAIL accounting, lead financial due diligence, and partner with advisors on transactions.
  • Deliver insightful reporting – produce and refine customer, performance, and financial reports, supporting QBRs and Board presentations.
  • Shape enterprise strategy – partner with ALM leadership, CFO, and CEO on key strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Lead and develop talent – build and mentor a high-performing senior finance team, fostering clarity, growth, and accountability.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • CA or CPA qualified with 10+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, or related roles, ideally within FMCG or liquor.
  • Proven leader with experience building, mentoring, and empowering high-performing teams.
  • Expert in financial planning – skilled in budgeting, profitability analysis, and management reporting.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to drive strategic planning, capital assessments, and investment decisions.
  • Tech-savvy – highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, with bonus points for Power BI or D365 experience.
  • Exceptional communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills, confident working with senior executives.
  • Thrives under pressure – adaptable, solutions-focused, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Future-focused – curious, innovative, and keen to champion process improvements and emerging tech like AI.
