About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead Metcash’s only Group-wide national marketing campaign while also helping to build a brand and growth engine from the ground up.
As Senior Marketing Manager – Group Campaigns & Growth, you’ll sit at the intersection of brand, data, retail media and commercial outcomes. You’ll own Family Founded — our flagship national campaign — end-to-end, driving year-on-year improvements in impact, ROI and supplier returns. Alongside this, you’ll partner with our Head of Product & Digital to launch customer acquisition programs for Metcash Edge, a newly forming business unit with big ambition.
This role is perfect for a senior marketer who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, loves connecting the dots across teams, and wants to shape a transformational agenda at scale.
In this Role
Leading our flagship national campaign – Family Founded
- Own the end-to-end strategy for Family Founded, including the creative platform, media approach and annual planning.
- Align objectives, budgets and governance across Business Pillars and Group teams.
- Drive year-on-year improvements in effectiveness, ROI and supplier returns through clear targets, measurement frameworks and post-campaign reviews.
- Lead highly collaborative ways of working with Business Pillar Marketing & Merchandise teams and the Group Retail Media team to maximise reach, frequency and shopper impact.
- Own the integrated campaign calendar and critical path, ensuring milestones, dependencies and risks are clearly governed.
- Champion data-led decision making, partnering with Data & Insights to build dashboards and embed learnings into future planning.
- Embed strong commercial discipline, balancing brand building with demand acceleration through supplier investment models, rate cards and compelling value propositions.
Building growth from the ground up – Metcash Edge
- Design and launch scalable customer acquisition programs across paid, owned and earned channels.
- Apply a test-and-learn mindset to continually improve conversion, CAC and lifetime value.
- Develop a clear and compelling brand strategy, translating it into high-quality copy and fit-for-channel assets.
- Brief, manage and inspire agency and creative partners to deliver at pace and with a high bar for craft.
- Uphold brand governance and consistency as Metcash Edge evolves and scales.
- Model Metcash behaviours — Accountability, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement and Think Customer — while helping to build an inclusive, high-performing, go-getter culture.
You’re Likely a Match If
- Proven end-to-end campaign leadership across strategy, creative, media and measurement.
- Strong performance and growth marketing capability, with hands-on comfort setting CAC/LTV frameworks.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Compelling storytelling, copywriting and briefing capability, with a sharp eye for creative quality.
- Commercial acumen, including ROI modelling, supplier value propositions, budgeting and forecasting.
- Comfort with ambiguity — you can create structure, prioritise ruthlessly and move fast.
- Strong program and project management discipline, with confidence managing calendars, risks and dependencies.
- 7+ years’ experience in brand and growth marketing within retail, consumer or other fast-paced environments.
- A track record of building brands or programs from scratch and scaling them.
- Experience working with Retail Media and supplier ecosystems (highly regarded).
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable commercial outcomes.
