About the Opportunity 


We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor. This role sits within our central Workplace Relations team and provides specialist Employee and Industrial Relations support to leaders across Metcash through influencing, coaching and mentoring. 

 

In this Role 


•    End to end case management of employee relations cases including performance management, misconduct, grievances, absence management, non-work related illnesses and injuries and investigations.
•    Build leadership capability by guiding, mentoring and/or coaching Team Leaders on all employee relations cases. This will be achieved through assessing risk & legislative requirements, coaching on relevant process, provide relevant tools, scripts & templates, and complete necessary documentation.
•    Build effective relationships with business leaders and provide commercially sound ER and IR advice in relation to operational and strategic business priorities.
•    Respond to Industrial Relations queries, including EA interpretation matters
•    Assist with EA negotiations for smaller operations
•    Work with the Safety team to ensure policy and procedures are in place and adhered to.
•    Assist with project work on an ad hoc basis

 

You’re Likely a Match If 


•    Circa 5+ years broad HR/People & Culture experience, with specialisation in Employee and/or industrial relations.
•    Experience within fast paced commercial environment.
•    Experience with blue collar / frontline / logistics workforce essential.
•    Previous involvement and an interest in EA negotiations is highly regarded.
•    Proven ability to work through end to end complex employee relations cases
•    Strong negotiation, coaching and influencing skills
•    Experience working across and effectively influencing stakeholders within a range of levels across an organisation.
•    Track record in developing strong relationships internally, externally, and across various business units.
