Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join the growing Enterprise Data Team (MData).

MData’s aspiration is that data underpins the delivery of exceptional consumer experiences and enables retailers, suppliers and Metcash to better run and grow their businesses. It is a central team that is enabling data to be a strategic, accessible and valued asset across the Metcash Group supporting data & insights, analytics and ML/AI across business units.

With the demand for data and insights continuing to grow, we are a looking for an energetic, Solution Architect with proven track record of delivery, encompassing analytic and data engineering solutions across Azure data platform technologies, with goal for data quality, availability, reliability, and accessibility for use by data analysts, BI developer and other digital solutions across Metcash’s business and functions 

What you’ll do

• Supporting the delivery team data and analytics engineering agile squad by delivery solution architecture for the various data projects.
• Design and development of scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingesting data into Azure data stores via ADF
• Contribute to the definition design standards, best practices and related development for enterprise data models, storage, databases and data pipelines and orchestration

• Working with product vendors and partner organisations to deliver POC and pilot new technologies to grow the Metcash’s data capabilities.
• Develop data architecture and environment strategy fit for business requirements includes non functional design elements such as DR, security and service objectives.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualification in an IT-related discipline
• Extensive experience in Big Data, data warehouse, data analytics projects, and/or any Information Management related projects
• Proven extensive experience in working with large and complex cloud data solutions, enterprise services and systems integration projects
• A deep understanding of data manipulation languages such as Spark, SQL, to build and maintain complex queries, streaming and real-time data pipelines
• Robust experience with Microsoft Data & Analytics PaaS, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipeline and CI/CD, and the Azure data technologies suite
