As the Supply Manager you will be responsible for managing engagement with Suppliers, and Metcash internal customers.You will deliver an optimised service, cost, and inventory outcome with benefit to Metcash, its customers, and the supplier community.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Coach, train, and develop the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) team in the Metcash systems, processes, and operational guidelines driving mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Represent Metcash Internal Customers (State Stock Control Teams, National Trading Teams and other internal customers), in discussions with Suppliers resulting in optimised inventory outcomes
  • Identify current or future ‘Priority Suppliers’ and manage the necessary deep dive into current or potential supply issues
  • Manage the data flow between Metcash Supply Chain and all DC Suppliers
  • Facilitate or provide tools for facilitation of collaboration sessions between Metcash Trading and Replenishment Teams, Supplier Account, and Supply Chain Teams
  • Drive and deliver a Service, Inventory, and Cost outcome in line with KPI’s and Metcash Food strategy
  • Deliver the process of shared forecasting between Metcash and its Suppliers

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Proven experience in a similar senior role, preferably in an S&OP Retail or FMCG environment
  • Experience in supplier management including supplier onboarding and supplier performance management
  • People management exposure
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles including: forecast management, inventory planning, event planning, demand & supply planning, and order optimisation
