About the Opportunity

Are you an expert in supply chain management, passionate about driving efficiency, and keen to make a real impact? At Metcash, we’re on the lookout for a highly skilled Supply Planner to optimise service, cost, and inventory outcomes across our supplier and customer networks. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth and strategic flow of goods, benefiting Metcash, its customers, and the supplier community.

As a key player in our team, you’ll be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance supply chain operations. In this Role

  • Manage order placements across multiple categories and suppliers within Metcash warehouses, ensuring alignment with supply chain needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and the Metcash Trading Team to optimize supply planning, forecasting, and operational collaboration
  • Represent the Replenishment team in key meetings regarding seasonal planning, supplier availability, and stock management (both strategic and operational)
  • Coordinate with Retail Supply and State Buying Teams on forecasts, short code management, aged stock, and customer queries
  • Support smooth execution of supplier changeovers, product updates, and manage supplier constraints within Metcash systems
  • Oversee forecasting for new lines, seasonal items, and baseline products, and communicate key supply plans to suppliers regularly
  • Take ownership of out-of-stock situations, aged stock, short code replenishment, and equitable inventory distribution across state teams
  • Manage stock builds and investment purchasing based on supplier and internal requirements

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Proven experience in Supply and Demand Planning for a large portfolio across multiple locations within the FMCG sector
  • Skilled in analysing, deconstructing, and adapting complex demand plans with agility
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders effectively
  • Strong background in FMCG environments
  • Experience working within or managing complex supply chains
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong problem solving
  • Proficient in relevant computing applications, including intermediate Microsoft Excel for complex data sets and pivot tables
