About The Opportunity

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Talent and Succession Manager to join our People & Culture team and help shape the future of leadership at Metcash. In this role, you'll drive the design, development, and implementation of talent strategies that align with Metcash’s Culture of Purpose and Performance. Focusing on retaining and accelerating top talent, you’ll support our future strategy and deliver market-leading outcomes.

 

You will manage Talent and Career Frameworks, ensuring they align with organisational needs, and build strong relationships with senior leaders to create tailored, evidence-based solutions. Through continuous evaluation, you'll help build a robust pipeline of future talent.


Reporting to the Group Manager Leadership, Learning & Talent and working in a collaborative team of P&C specialists, this hands-on role is key to driving success by enhancing talent across the business.

 

In this Role 


•    Refine and enhance talent management strategies and tools to align with Metcash's Culture of Purpose & Performance.
•    Strengthen the identification and development of top talent, accelerating their growth for future leadership roles.
•    Build and manage succession plans for critical roles, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline across all levels.
•    Develop strong relationships with senior leaders and the P&C team to create tailored talent solutions and drive buy-in across a diverse business.
•    Manage the Succession and Development module in SuccessFactors, using data to inform talent decisions and build a strong pipeline.
•    Drive internal mobility by reviewing and redesigning career frameworks, tools, and processes.
•    Design and oversee High Potential Talent programs in collaboration with the Leadership team while collaborating with L&D to create leadership development programs for emerging and senior leaders.
•    Monitor engagement and retention data, recommending initiatives to improve talent retention.
•     Partner with external vendors to deliver key initiatives and ensure quality standards.


You’re Likely a Match If 


•    You have proven success in designing and implementing talent development solutions that align with business priorities, using psychometric and assessment tools (including Hogan).
•    You bring a strategic mindset with a pragmatic, operational approach and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organisation, including senior leaders.
•    You excel in building strong relationships, communicating purpose and direction clearly, and leading through influence.
•    You have excellent data, critical thinking, and analytical skills to make informed, evidence-based decisions that take into account complex organisational landscapes
•    You maintain a flexible, curious mindset, staying open to new trends in talent management and HR, leveraging your external knowledge networks to bring best in class thinking to an organisation.   
•    A degree in HR or Business is desirable but not essential.
