At Metcash, our Merchandise Strategy and Vendor Partnerships team is at the forefront of building successful collaborations with our vendor partners (suppliers). As a Trading Terms Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping these partnerships by analysing data, creating vendor engagement plans, and ensuring our trading terms cover Metcash’s cost of doing business while providing value to our vendor partners. This is your chance to contribute to a dynamic team that drives value and delivers outcomes that matter.

 

In this Role

  • Dive deep into Metcash data to analyse supplier performance, trading terms income, and the cost of doing business (CODB).
  • Analyse historical financial data, cost structures, and competitor data to provide informed recommendations for pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate and work closely with other departments, including Finance, IT, Merchandise. 
  • Supplier Competitor analysis on terms and pricing to provide insights to the Vendor Partnerships team.
  • Craft vendor engagement plans that empower the Vendor Partnerships team to engage effectively with vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, provide actionable insights, prepare proposals for further engagement and track engagement outcomes.
  • Collaborate across Metcash trading teams to ensure that trading terms proposals are aligned with Metcash’s commercial objectives.
  • Provide tracking and progress reporting on the Vendor Partnerships teams targets.
  • Create new trading terms agreements using the Salesforce solution and provide general administrative support to the Vendor Partnerships team
  • Be a go-to expert on trading terms processes and Salesforce solutions, offering guidance to the broader merchandise team.

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, Power BI and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expertise in data analysis, cross-referencing databases, and delivering insights under tight deadlines.
  • Logical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and a collaborative approach.
  • An adaptable team player who thrives under pressure and delivers results.
