At Metcash, our Merchandise Strategy and Vendor Partnerships team is at the forefront of building strong collaborations with our vendor partners. As a Trading Terms Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping these partnerships by leveraging data and engagement plans to ensure our trading terms cover Metcash's costs while providing fair marketing value to vendors. In this Role
- Engage with key stakeholders to align on annual and quarterly priorities for vendor partner engagement
- Work closely with Commercial Finance to develop a robust terms proposal
- Collaborate with the Trading Terms Analyst and key stakeholders to build vendor-specific Trading Terms proposals using relevant data, ensuring they reflect the cost of services provided by Metcash and fair value for the vendor’s marketing activities
- Work across Metcash trading teams to ensure proposals align with Metcash’s commercial objectives
- Lead assigned vendor engagements and manage the end-to-end process, considering counter proposals and adjusting Metcash proposals as necessary
- Validate and communicate Trading Terms outcomes to facilitate accurate reporting and tracking
- Collaborate with the Metcash legal team on any changes to Trading Terms documentation, whether initiated by Metcash or to meet legal requirements
- Create new trading terms agreements in the Salesforce Trading Terms solution, overseeing the process from proposal to sign-off
- Be a subject matter expert on the trading terms construct and the Salesforce Trading Terms solution, providing support and guidance to the broader merchandise team
- Liaise with the Trading Terms Administration team to ensure efficient execution of Trading Terms agreements
You’re Likely a Match If
- Strong background in FMCG, Merchandise Buying, or Sales
- Familiarity with or experience in the Trading Terms process
- Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and major brand vendors
- Self-motivated, positive, and collaborative with a proactive attitude
- A team-oriented individual who thrives under pressure and consistently delivers results
- Adaptable, with the ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks effectively
