And you’ll be part of our high performing team, where you reap the rewards of our collective success now and into the future.
About the Opportunity
At Metcash, we’re proud to champion Australia’s independent retailers across Food, Liquor and Hardware. But behind our ability to power independents lies a high-performing, ever-evolving IT ecosystem—and we’re looking for a visionary leader to transform how IT delivers value across the enterprise.
As our Enterprise IT Ways of Working Transformation Lead, you’ll be at the helm of a large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation—reimagining how we work, how we collaborate, and how we create impact. This is your opportunity to drive one of the most significant cultural shifts in our IT history, embedding Agile principles, accelerating delivery, and unlocking the full potential of our technology teams.
In this Role
- Lead the enterprise transformation of IT, with a strong focus on cultural evolution, mindset shifts, and new ways of working.
- Design and implement a future-focused Ways of Working strategy, aligned to our broader enterprise goals and IT transformation roadmap.
- Champion and embed Agile principles and mindsets across Group IT—uplifting delivery squads, creating scalable agility, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build strong, cross-functional partnerships with business leaders to drive alignment, innovation, and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Define and measure key success metrics (e.g., velocity, delivery lead time, total cost of ownership) to ensure data-driven decision making.
- Leverage modern Agile tools like Azure DevOps and introduce tech enablers that unlock speed, quality, and visibility.
- Develop high-performing, outcome-obsessed teams, building enterprise-wide capability and confidence in new ways of working.
You’re Likely a Match If
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, with a proven track record leading enterprise-wide Agile transformations in complex environments.
- Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and experience adapting them to large, multi-business unit contexts.
- Demonstrated success in driving delivery acceleration, operational efficiency and reduction of total cost of ownership.
- Proficiency with Agile delivery tools like Azure DevOps.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and change leadership skills—you know how to bring people on the journey.
- Agile certifications highly regarded (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)).
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or a related field (Master’s preferred).
