About the Opportunity

Metcash is actively seeking a dynamic and results-driven Wholesale Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape and execute strategies that drive business growth, enhance client relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team. You will oversee all aspects of our wholesale operations, from sales and inventory management to contract negotiations and market analysis. In this Role

• Deliver on wholesale sales and income budget and drive improvements in Cost of Goods.
• Develop and deliver category range, pricing and promotional plans that are aligned to the strategic priorities of each channel.
• Be the subject matter expert for the business for category growth strategies, utilising internal and external insights.
• Own and manage all supplier relationships including the supplier profitability to our network (wholesale and retail) by channel, DIFOT, JBP’s, Supplier Engagement.
• Negotiate the best commercial outcome for Customers, Retailers and Metcash 
• Develop and deliver the category’s private label strategy.
• Periodic trading performance reviews, making recommendations for performance improvement.

You’re Likely a Match If

• Strong negotiation skills with a focus on supplier collaboration for mutual growth
• Experience in Category Management and promotional planning
• Knowledge of Shopper and Category trends, applied in an FMCG environment
• Customer-focused, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of key Category Management success factors
• Proven track record of delivering clear, actionable category strategies and plans
