About the Opportunity  

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Wholesale Manager. The role of Wholesale Manager will utilise industry knowledge to source and negotiate an optimum, broad wholesale range to provide service and solutions for the Metcash Food business with national and local suppliers. Ensuring a competitive cost of goods, breadth of range and supporting terms framework to deliver growth of team score and like for like sales growth. 

In this Role You Will 

• Deliver on wholesale sales and income budget and drive improvements in COGS. 

• Build, negotiate & maintain fit for purpose Trading Terms 

• Be the subject matter expert for the business for category growth strategies, utilising internal and external insights. 

• Negotiate the best commercial out-come for Customers, Wholesale and Metcash  

• Develop and deliver a private label strategy fit for a broad customer set. 

• Optimise total range for go to market solutions (WH; CT; XD) 

• Support Team Score through sourcing and converting business to Metcash universe 

• Periodic trading performance reviews, making recommendations for performance improvement. 

You’re Likely a Match If You Have 

• Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work with Suppliers for mutual growth 

• Strong commercial acumen 

• Sound knowledge of shopper and customer insights to procure range and COGS 

• Customer focused and collaborative, who can influence in an internal matrix structure and with external stakeholders  

• Ability to influence, at all levels, to drive productivity and efficiency of range 

• Ability to use and make data led decisions on performance
