Senior Payroll Officer

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will lead a small payroll team within our Superior Foods business, while delivering accurate weekly and fortnightly payroll in a multi site environment. Our team enjoy a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days onsite / 2 days remote, with team days on Tuesday and Wednesdays. 

In this Role 

•    Lead a small payroll team while delivering weekly and fortnightly payroll accurately
•    Validate timesheets to ensure correct and timely pay across all sites
•    Manage payroll changes including starters, leave, adjustments, and exits
•    Maintain accurate records across payroll, T&A, and super systems
•    Support PAYG, super, payroll tax, and WorkCover compliance
•    Resolve payroll queries and provide clear reports to wider People & Culture and Finance teams

What are we looking for? 

•    Proven experience leading and developing a small payroll team through coaching and performance support
•    Strong end to end payroll expertise across Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and individual contracts
•    In depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including PAYG, payroll tax, super, leave, and terminations
•    Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll issues, audits, and escalations with strong attention to detail
•    Experience partnering with P&C and Finance to deliver accurate reporting, compliance, and process improvements
•    Payroll system experience (Pronto highly regarded, but not essential)
