We are looking for Buying Assistant - Produce to develop, negotiate and implement National/state- purchasing for defined categories and banner groups, delivering a program which realizes sales, profit and marketing income objectives.

This role will require you to work between the hours 10:30am – 6:30pm Mon, Tues, Wed & Friday & Saturday between 4am – 12pm and will be based at our Parooka site.

 

What you’ll do

•    Build strong relationships with retailers and suppliers, establish a viable alternative to competitive offers and sustain loyalty to the retail offer.
•    Produce purchasing - Acquiring product from direct growers or market agent within quality specification and price.
•    Manage stock control to minimize potential losses and maximize quality.
•    Ensuring correct ranging and pricing within market conditions
•    Implementation of strategic business plans
•    Identify potential supply and products and develop to an outcome.
•    Drive and meet sales budgets by procuring stock within specifications and on selling to new and existing customers.

 

What you’ll bring

•    Minimum 3years experience in a related FMCG role, e.g. Buying highly desirable
•    A good understanding of produce quality & seasonal variations   
•    Proven ability to implement procedures and execute strategies
•    Sound knowledge growing and supply trends within the industry
•    Sound knowledge of IT System
