About the Opportunity

Drive SHE excellence in our Hardware Pillar DCs through proactive leadership and collaboration, Champion a culture of safety through hazard reporting, inspections, and SHE conversations. Foster continuous improvement by sharing learnings and eliminating risks to prevent incidents and injuries. Play a key role in driving training, building safety capability across the DC leadership team and team members.  Together, let's build a proactive and safe workplace.

In this Role

• Drive consistent implementation of SHE Strategy initiatives across Hardware DCs
• Monitor and investigate injury, incident, and near-miss events, sharing learnings and actions across the Hardware Pillar.
• Analyze both lead and lag indicators to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Assess SHE audit outcomes and incident trends to enhance SHE Management Systems and practices.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with DC leadership, providing guidance and support for SHE outcomes.
• Play a pivotal role in driving training and SHE capability across the DC network

You’re Likely a Match If you have

• Expertise in driving change
• In-depth knowledge of Metcash policies, safety systems, and business operations.
• Familiarity with key stakeholders across various pillars and functional areas.
• Possess advanced education in SHE or related field, such as a Master's or tertiary qualification.
• Demonstrated comprehension of pertinent safety and environmental laws in Australia
• Proficient in SHE, risk management, workers' compensation, and injury management frameworks, with extensive experience in DCs/Logistics and frontline operational safety.
• Desirable - TAE40122 certification in training and assessment
