About the role 

 

A great opportunity has arisen in our Becks Mitre 10 Trade Centre business for a Trade Yard Manager in our new Smithton site. This is a Full-Time, Monday to Friday role (with the rare weekends).

 

As the Trade Yard Manager you will lead by example on the floor, delivering excellent customer service while overseeing daily operations within the department. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, productivity, service standards, and team performance are consistently met. The Trade Manager will coach, support and motivate team members while remaining hands‑on in day‑to‑day operations.
 
 

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead, coach and motivate team members to achieve high standards of customer service, safety and productivity
  • Act as a point of escalation for customer and team queries within the department
  • Allocate daily work tasks, monitor performance and ensure workloads are completed efficiently
  • Foster a positive, respectful and safety‑focused team culture
  • Champion health and safety by ensuring safe work practices for staff, customers and contractors
  • Serve customers by assisting with orders and delivering fast, efficient and professional service
  • Receive and put away stock, predominantly timber and associated products
  • Pick, prepare and dispatch customer orders for delivery trucks accurately and on time

  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prioritise workload to effectively meet deadlines
  • Must be physically fit and able to be on your feet all day
  • An eye for detail and a sense of urgency
  • Trade knowledge and experience (essential)
  • Forklift Licence (Highly desirable)
