About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Commercial Partner – VIC on a 12mth FTC. You will support the State Commercial Manager in partnering with the State teams to drive and deliver business strategy and commercial outcomes supporting sustainable Wholesaler and Independent network operations and growth, through a focus on network growth, performance improvement and transformation, enabled by business insights and analytics and supported by effective, fit-for-purpose governance.
In this Role
- Consider and develop transformation and business improvement initiatives that will continue to position the State and Food business strongly in improving profitability and capital efficiency and achieving strategic objectives, including operating model development and growth.
- Support the State Commercial Manager in developing, maintaining and executing on the shared IGA Network Growth pipeline for the State.
- Provide commercial guidance and stewardship to State teams, ensuring efficient and effective operation of commercial and financial processes, leveraging National Commercial and Shared Service support models.
- Assist the State Commercial Manager in analysis and business case development for State investment cases, partnering with key stakeholders including Legal, Group Property and National Commercial as required, including execution and customer negotiation as required.
- Partner with FP&A and Business Insights in developing and evolving robust model/s and reporting suites for State analytics, decision support and insights eg, Month End Reporting Suite, Logistics Dashboard, State Commercial Dashboard, etc.
- Foster excellent internal and external relationships and proactively support the State’s engagement and culture plans.
You’re Likely a Match If
- Accounting/Quantitative degree or similar
- Track record of operating in a complex environment and business model
- Consumer Goods, Wholesale and/or Retail/Convenience, Supply Chain sector experience preferred
- Strong presentation, analytical. Communication and business partnering skills (influencing both internal and external stakeholders)
- Ability to analyse data and trends, perform structured problem solving, and translate insights into action plans
- Strong financial modelling and system skills, including advanced Excel and Power BI (or similar)
